Wedding Song to the Lamb of God
|
||||
Wedding Song of joy and praise to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. The saints sing wedding songs of love, praise, and adoration to the Lamb of God who gives them and us eternal life in heaven.9And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. 10You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:9, 10, NIV). The words … they sang a new song pointed to the salvation of the Lord. The word new (kainos) meant “fresh in form or recently made.” It’s a new and different nature when compared to the old.[i] They sang a new wedding song to the Lamb because he was slain for us. By his blood, Jesus Christ purchased our salvation and redeemed us from spiritual death. Redeemed by His BloodThe Father desired oneness with
his children.
Our Union—Our HolinessWe have a union with God: by this union, we have eternal life. No one on this earth or in Heaven has the strength to break the bond between our Father and us. Satan cannot break it, nor can any other power on earth or in Heaven. Nothing can separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus (Rom 8:37–39). We have a free will, and only we can break our union with God. We can break it if we harden our hearts to God and to his Word.
Wedding Song and Union with God11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever (Rev. 5:11–14, KJV). Wedding Song at the Throne of GodJohn’s vision of the Throne widens out; he sees and hears the glorified chorus at the Throne. He beholds an unlimited (murias) number of angels singing with the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures.[2] They sing praises to the Lamb. The angels, the beasts, and the elders give a sacred wedding song of praise and adoration to the Lord! They said, the Lamb’s Worthy to receive … power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. The seven parts of this blessing gave it perfection. All of creation, on earth and in Heaven, belongs to the Lamb, who sits at the right hand of our Father on the Throne. All creatures in Heaven will sing praises, honor, and glory forever and ever. When we all get to Heaven, the Bible says we will walk on streets of gold and live in big houses. The glory of the Lord will surpass our expectations. Eyes cannot see the glory of the Almighty, nor can ears hear the glorious praises. One thing we know: when we get to Heaven, we shall see our Savior face-to-face. Then we shall sing a wedding song and praises to him for all eternity while thanking him for his abundant grace. Amen! Amen! |
